Lawn Mowers
Everybody knows what lawn mowers do: Lawn mowers are devices that use revolving blades to cut grass (or other plants) to an even length. Some people enjoy mowing their lawn, and think of it as a great opportunity to go outdoors and get some exercise. Others view it as a chore, as little more than vacuuming their lawn. Other people may not love or hate the activity, but simply do not want their grass looking too high or uneven. Thus, they will use lawn mowers to get the job done. (Or, more likely scenario, pay someone else to do it!)
Types Of Lawn Mowers
What kind of lawn mowers are there? Plenty – for starters, there are rotary mowers, which are mowers that use a blade that rotates on a vertical axis, then there are cylinder mowers that use a blade assembly that rotates on a horizontal axis. A lawn mower can be designed for special purposes, and also be built according to a specific size or activity. Some commercial mowers are small and can easily be pushed by a person of average strength. These types of lawn mowers are best suited for small lawns and gardens. There are also larger mowers that can be driven and are best suited for large lawns. There are also multi-gang mowers that are pulled behind a tractor and handle large areas such as parks or golf courses, as well as hover mowers that create an air cushion thereby lifting the mower off the ground and robotic lawn mowers, which involves an owner setting up a border wire around the lawn defining the area. As far as cylinder mowers go, there are push mowers, walk behind power mowers, ride on power mowers and tow-behind or pull mowers. Rotary motors are powered by internal combustion engines, such as two-stroke or four-stroke, and run on gasoline or other liquid fuels. Electric rotary motors are also a popular choice as these mowers are moved by manual motive power, with some models requiring a cord and others being cordless.
